Royal Mail has issued a warning to residents in 13 postcodes that postal deliveries may be delayed today. The company confirmed that while its air and road networks are operating normally, hold-ups are expected at six delivery offices.
The Dorset Mail Centre reported that not all post was processed and dispatched on time over the past 24 hours, affecting items destined for the BH and DT postcode areas. The affected delivery offices include Oxford, Petersfield, and Whetstone.
In a service update, Royal Mail stated: "We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors."
The company added that it will rotate deliveries to minimise delays and provide targeted support to affected offices to restore service standards.
