South Lanarkshire Council has opened a public consultation on its new five-year strategic plan, 'Connect', inviting residents to help shape the vision, values, and priorities for the period 2027 to 2032. The online survey will remain open until the end of September 2026.
How the Consultation Works
The 'Connect' document outlines the council's future direction. Feedback collected during this initial phase will directly influence the drafting of priorities. Once the consultation closes, council officials will prepare a draft plan, which will undergo a second round of public consultation in early 2027, allowing further community input.
Chief Executive's Call for Participation
Chief executive Paul Manning emphasized the importance of public involvement, stating: "It is a plan for the future, and we are keen to hear the views of individuals and communities across South Lanarkshire. They will help shape the key priorities for the council for the next five years." Manning added that after the initial consultation, a draft version will be published for another consultation period in early 2027, giving everyone another opportunity to engage.
How to Take Part
Residents can access the survey and more information on the South Lanarkshire Council website. The council encourages broad participation to ensure the plan reflects community needs.
