Harry and Meghan Plan UK Return for Archie and Lilibet's School

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly found a new home in the UK ahead of their return for an "extended period," according to reports. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be planning for Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, to attend school in the UK from September.

King Charles Informed of Plans

King Charles was reportedly informed on Sunday, August 16, that Harry and Meghan will return to Britain. It is understood that there will be no change to Harry and Meghan's positions as members of the Royal Family who do not carry out duties on the monarch's behalf.

If true, the move would represent a significant U-turn for the couple, who left the UK for North America in 2020 after stepping back as senior working royals.

Previous Comments and Recent Visit

Meghan previously told The Cut that if Archie were in school in the UK, she would never be able to do school pick-up and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people taking pictures.

Harry, Meghan, Archie, and Lilibet were in the UK last month, when they met King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire. The meeting was widely interpreted as a thawing in relations between the monarch and his youngest son.

New Home Location Unknown

Currently, the Sussexes live in Montecito, California. Their last address when they lived in England was Frogmore Cottage in Windsor Great Park. The location of their new home has not been revealed, but some reports suggest it may be in The Cotswolds, which is near Highgrove. Harry might also want to be close to Althorp House, the childhood home of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. It is believed the Sussexes visited the Northamptonshire country house during their visit to the UK in July.

Windsor may be an option, although it is questionable whether the Waleses and Sussexes would want to live so close together given the apparent rift between King Charles's sons. Prince William and Princess Catherine also tend to base themselves at Anmer Hall during the summer holidays, which is also in Norfolk.
