Coatbridge MP Frank McNally has welcomed the award of more than £37,000 in community grants to local organisations funded by the UK Labour Government through the Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board.
Funding Allocations
Nine local organisations have been awarded grants from the £40,000 Community Empowerment Fund, helping deliver holiday activities, youth engagement programmes, environmental projects and mental health support across Coatbridge.
Mr McNally said: “These grants are great news for Coatbridge and a welcome investment in the local organisations that do so much for our communities. From supporting young people during the school holidays to improving mental health and creating opportunities for local families, this funding will make a real difference. I want to congratulate every organisation that has secured funding and thank the volunteers, staff and community leaders whose hard work makes these projects possible. Labour is committed to backing communities with investment that delivers real opportunities and strengthens the organisations at the heart of local life. I look forward to seeing these projects make a positive difference across Coatbridge.”
Beneficiary Organisations
The grants support organisations including Cliftonville and Coatdyke Community Group, Kirkshaws Neighbourhood Centre, Parents Action for Safe Play, Manorview Foundation, Routes to Work, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), Shining Stars ASN Theatre School and The Safety Zone.
The Coatbridge Neighbourhood Board is also considering additional grant awards to further expand support for community organisations if additional funding is approved.
