Andy Burnham has acknowledged a plea from a bride not to 'ruin' her wedding, which is due to take place at the registry office located in the same building as the new Number 10 North.
Bride's TikTok appeal
In a video posted on TikTok titled 'Andy Burnham please don't ruin my wedding', Saz Burwin said she saw the new northern headquarters, Number 10 North, at Heron House on the news. She noted the surrounding police presence and bollards.
Burwin, who is getting married on August 21 at the registry office in Heron House, expressed concerns that the security measures would affect her wedding photos. She asked Burnham not to be present that day, or at least without the police escorts and armed officers.

Background
The government's new northern headquarters in Heron House on Albert Square in Manchester city centre was officially opened by the Prime Minister on Friday, July 24. The Prime Minister is expected to work from the hub at least once a week, with other cabinet ministers using it regularly.
A significant police presence, including armed officers, was deployed around the building during the week, increasing on the day of the Prime Minister's visit. Metal fencing was erected at the front entrance, and Burnham's security convoy drove directly into the building. He later came out to greet crowds, saying 'I love you Manchester.'
The registry office, which shares the building, has its entrance on Lloyd Street. Several bridal parties were seen entering as police stood guard nearby.
