Applegate described how Sadie has been her rock throughout the ordeal, even as the young girl grapples with seeing her mother's health decline. "There was this one moment," Applegate recalled, her voice breaking, "when Sadie just looked at me with these big, tear-filled eyes and said, 'I just want you to be okay, Mom.'"
