Gemma Atkinson has revealed that her new wellness and skincare venture, Gem and Tonic, has led her to adopt a 'pro-ageing' stance, ruling out the use of injectables such as Botox. The 41-year-old former Hollyoaks star, who rose to fame playing Lisa Hunter, said she feels a responsibility to her brand to avoid cosmetic procedures.
Atkinson, who also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and has two children with dancer Gorka Marquez, admitted she had previously considered using botulinum toxin injections when she turned 40. However, she now believes that using injectables would conflict with her role as the face of her new brand.
This is not the first time Atkinson has addressed speculation about cosmetic treatments. In 2023, after giving birth to her son Thiago, she denied having any work done on her face, stating she was 'scared it'll go wrong'. She also responded to a fan who claimed her facial expressions had changed due to Botox, insisting she had never used it.
Atkinson's comments come amid ongoing public scrutiny of her appearance, with the actress maintaining that her natural face is simply ageing gracefully. Her new brand focuses on promoting a healthy lifestyle and embracing the ageing process.
