The British engineering brand has shrunk its Supersonic into a smaller, lighter, travel-friendly dryer that promises the same powerful airflow and heat-control technology as its full-size sibling.
I tested the Dyson Supersonic Travel on my mid-length curly hair, noting drying time, frizz control, and style longevity. The dryer measures 7.1 x 22.2 x 6.8cm and weighs just 0.33kg, making it easy to slip into luggage or a carry-on. It features universal voltage compatibility (100-240V) for consistent performance worldwide.
Like the original, the Travel uses a high-speed digital motor (110,000rpm) to generate strong airflow for fast drying without excessive heat. It has two airflow speeds and two heat settings, plus a cool shot, offering four styling combinations. It took me under 10 minutes to dry my hair, comparable to a full-size premium dryer but faster than a basic model.
The dryer comes with a smoothing concentrator nozzle and is compatible with existing Supersonic attachments, so you won’t need to buy new ones. It can connect to the MyDyson app for styling guides, but cannot be controlled from the app. The ceramic matt-pink finish is attractive, and the manual buttons are well-placed and easy to operate.
