Frozen Pizzas at Aldi and Walmart Recalled Over Salmonella Risk
Frozen Pizzas Recalled at Aldi and Walmart for Salmonella

Several varieties of frozen pizzas sold at Aldi and Walmart have been recalled due to a potential salmonella contamination. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for meat and poultry products containing an FDA-regulated ingredient formulated with dry milk powder, which may be contaminated with salmonella.

Recalled Products

Six products with the affected dry milk powder have been recalled. At Aldi stores nationwide, the recall includes Mama Cozzi’s Biscuit Crust Sausage & Cheese Breakfast Pizza and Biscuit Crust Cooked Pork Belly Crumbles, Cooked Bacon Topping, Pepper & Onion Breakfast Pizza. At Walmart stores across the country, three Great Value frozen pizzas are recalled: Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch, Ultra Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch, and Stuffed Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch. Additionally, Culinary Circle’s Ultra Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch frozen pizza and Pork King’s Sour Cream & Onion Pork Rinds and Party Size Sour Cream & Onion Pork Rinds are recalled.

Consumer Advice

The food safety agency reported no confirmed adverse reactions from consumption but urges consumers to throw away the products immediately or return them to the store for a full refund. Recalled items can be identified by production dates, Best By dates, lot codes, and establishment numbers provided by the agency. Further recalls of products made with the dry milk powder are expected.

Salmonella Symptoms

According to the FDA, salmonella infections can cause symptoms within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food, including diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps lasting four to seven days. Severe cases may involve high fever, headache, lethargy, rash, or blood in urine or stool.

Recent Recalls

This recall follows other recent salmonella-related recalls. Last week, Ghirardelli recalled hot cocoa and frappe mixes due to potential milk powder contamination, though no illnesses were reported. In March, Costco recalled Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze, sold in 26 states between March 2 and March 13, 2026, due to potential salmonella contamination.
