Comedian and actress Amy Schumer has shared a candid update about her health after undergoing emergency back surgery. The procedure, a laminectomy, was required following a surfing accident that left her in severe pain.
Schumer took to social media to explain the situation, detailing how the accident occurred and the steps leading to her surgery. "I took a bad fall while surfing and knew immediately something was wrong," she wrote. "The pain was unbearable, and doctors confirmed I needed surgery to relieve pressure on my spine."

A laminectomy is a surgical procedure that removes part of the vertebral bone called the lamina to alleviate pressure on the spinal cord or nerves. It’s often performed to treat conditions like spinal stenosis or severe herniated discs.
Schumer assured fans that the surgery was successful and she is now focused on recovery. "I’m on the mend and grateful for the incredible medical team who took care of me," she added.
