Gregg Wallace 'Scared' After Disc Injury, Struggles to Walk

Former MasterChef host Gregg Wallace has been left struggling to walk after suffering a mystery injury that he says 'scared' him. In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, July 3, the 61-year-old appeared using a crutch to move across a room, explaining that doctors have diagnosed him with a 'disc issue'.

Gregg Wallace's Health Scare

'I've got a disc issue, and I've properly hurt myself, and that scared me,' Wallace said in the clip. He added: 'That's a reminder to me and everybody else that health should always be a priority. Because without good health, we can't do anything else at all.'

The broadcaster reassured fans that he is receiving medical help and expects to recover. 'I'm getting help, and I will be fine,' he said. In the caption, he wrote: 'Please look after yourself and make your health a priority.'

Fans React to the Injury Update

Supporters quickly flooded the comments section with well-wishes. One user wrote: 'It's not easy when you have a health setback. Glad you are improving each day.' Another said: 'Hope you have a speedy recovery,' while a third commented: 'Health is wealth, mate.'

The injury comes one year after Wallace and his co-host John Torode were axed from the BBC reality show MasterChef. The TV star was dismissed following an investigation into 83 historical allegations of workplace misconduct, 45 of which were upheld.

Financial and Personal Reflections

Despite losing his £400,000-per-year MasterChef salary, Wallace has said he is far happier now. He recently shared insights into his financial struggles after the sudden loss of income. 'I used to earn a load of money, right? And then it stopped overnight, it stopped,' he told followers on social media.

'Security is hugely important, but you don't need millions in order to feel secure,' he explained. Wallace said that once his family 'broke even', he felt a sense of calm. He added that earning more just to cover bigger bills 'was just stress' and not worth it.

'I don't think happiness can be found in not needing more. That is calmness. Happiness for me is companionship and simple pleasures anyway. Think about that,' he said. The chef noted that he and his family are no longer scared about money and have worked hard to lower spending and budget for everything.
