A father-of-two has issued a devastatingly raw health warning after his life was irrevocably shattered by a silent killer he initially mistook for a minor bug bite.
Andy Jones, a 43-year-old from St Asaph, North Wales, is now a quadruple amputee fighting to rebuild his life after a rapid-onset sepsis infection ravaged his body. It began with what seemed like a common flu. Andy felt unwell, experiencing aches and a high temperature. Within a terrifyingly short period, his condition deteriorated beyond recognition. Rushed to Glan Clwyd Hospital, he was immediately placed into an induced coma to save his life.
"They told my family I had a five percent chance of survival," Andy shared. The sepsis, potentially triggered by a tiny insect bite, had unleashed a chain reaction of catastrophic organ failure.

Andy spent over two months in a coma while medical teams battled to keep him alive. To stop the sepsis from spreading further and to save his life, surgeons were forced to make the unimaginable decision: amputating both his legs below the knee and both arms below the elbow.
