Mother dog and four puppies dumped in Welsh country lane

Hope Rescue, an animal charity based in Pontyclun, is appealing for information after a mother dog and her four puppies were discovered dumped in a crate on a country lane in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend. The charity received a call on Wednesday evening alerting them to the abandoned dogs.

Dogs found with skin conditions

The four puppies, believed to be around five months old, are all suffering from skin conditions and are now receiving veterinary treatment. The mother, described as a Jack Russell type dog, was found alongside them in the same crate.

A spokesperson for Hope Rescue said: "Last night, this female jack Russell and four puppies were found abandoned in the crate pictured below in a lane in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend. We believe the puppies are around five months old. All have skin issues which they will now be receiving treatment for."

Appeal for information

The charity expressed deep concern over the circumstances of the abandonment and the welfare of any other dogs that may still be with the same owner. They are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The spokesperson added: "They are now safe in our care but we are obviously very concerned about the way in which they were abandoned and the welfare of any other dogs from the same owner. If you have any information regarding them, please contact us on 01443 226659."

Hope Rescue continues to care for the dogs and is investigating the incident with the hope of preventing further abandonments.
