UK Heatwave End Date Confirmed by Weather Maps

Weather maps have confirmed the end date of the current UK heatwave, with cooler conditions expected from July 21. Large parts of the UK, including Merseyside, are experiencing a third heatwave this year, with temperatures set to exceed 30C in Liverpool this week.

Yellow Heat-Health Alert in Effect

Merseyside is under a yellow heat-health alert as above-average temperatures persist. Peak temperatures are due on Thursday and Friday, reaching 31C and 29C respectively. The Met Office warned of high UV levels and light winds, with a maximum temperature of 33C forecast for Friday.

When Will the Heatwave End?

Hot temperatures are forecast to last until the end of next week. According to the Met Office, "Temperatures will be warm or very warm for most, perhaps hot at times in the southwest, but probably not as hot as of late." Weather maps show milder conditions from Friday, July 17, with deep red patches turning to yellow and then blue by July 21.

Weekend and Beyond

The weekend will remain dry, sunny, and very warm, though winds may make it feel less hot. The Met Office added: "The signal through the end of July and into August becomes increasingly mixed with spells of low pressure and more unsettled weather becoming more likely. There may still be some thunderstorms at times."
