Reuben Owen and his girlfriend Jess have shared a personal update with fans as the latest series of Life in the Dales concluded. Jess admitted the couple have been “super busy” since filming wrapped, posting a comment on Reuben’s Instagram.
Couple’s Busy Life on the Farm
Reuben, who rose to fame alongside his parents Amanda and Clive on Our Yorkshire Farm, stars with Jess on the Channel 5 programme. The show documents the highs and lows of Reuben’s machinery business in Swaledale and life on Jess’s family farm, Brough Castle.
On Instagram, Reuben shared photos of Jess helping with the first cut of silage, captioning: “Some photos helping @jessica.ellwood1 with first cut silage #mygirlfriendissobeautiful.” Jess replied: “We have been super busy! Lovely post, love you so much.”
Emotional Finale and Fan Reactions
The latest series has been particularly emotional, featuring fears for livestock and Reuben’s friends Capper and Sonny opening up about their mental health after devastating losses. The finale left fans gutted, but the team promised to return.
The Life in the Dales team posted on social media: “Can’t believe it’s the last episode of the series… where have the last 8 weeks gone? It’s been an incredible series… we’ll be back soon!” Fans responded with support, with one writing: “Oh man. Not the last. Jess’s Passion for Farming
Jess previously opened up about her love for farming, following in her father’s footsteps. She said on the show: “I love what I do, I’ve done it since I was tiny, it’s my dream job. I love getting up in the morning and seeing all the cows. These cows, we’ve bred them over the years… If we lost all these cows in one day, it would be devastating. Words can’t really describe, it would be heartbreaking.”
