Beauty expert Sali Hughes has recommended a £30 device that instantly reduces itching and swelling from insect bites, calling it an essential travel item. The Beurer BR60 Insect Bite Healer, available at Argos, uses heat to break down proteins in insect saliva, providing rapid relief.
How the Beurer BR60 Works
The device features a quick-warming ceramic plate that applies heat to bites. According to Hughes, the intense heat takes some getting used to but becomes a pleasant sensation. It has two settings: a three-second option for children aged three and up and for use during pregnancy, and a six-second setting for adults, making it suitable for all skin types.

The Beurer BR60 is small and portable, fitting easily into a pocket or bag. It is battery-operated and comes with batteries included, so it can be used immediately. Hughes recommended using it as soon as a bite is noticed for best results.
