Kelvin Fletcher's Farm Fears Over Kids And Calf Injury

Former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has expressed concerns about his children participating in the upcoming Royal Cheshire Show, as his calf proves difficult to control. In an episode of his reality TV show, the actor, who now lives on a farm in Cheshire, admitted to feeling nervous about his children handling the animal in the young handler section.

Fletcher, who moved to the farm with his wife Liz, said: 'We don't want them pulling the kids around. When it's the kids, it does make me a little bit nervous. You've got a responsibility as an adult, as a parent, to work out how much you push them out of their comfort zone.'

Compounding the situation, Fletcher revealed he has torn his bicep, potentially preventing him from leading the calf in the show ring. He told his wife: 'My arm's still killing me... I'm just thinking whether or not it's best for you to take him in.' Liz responded: 'I feel underprepared more than last year.'

Further woes hit the family as hot weather affected their oat crop and sheep. On the day of the show, fellow farmers noticed the calf struggling to breathe, with Fletcher saying: 'They said he might have a touch of pneumonia, so obviously that doesn't sound great.'
