According to Miriam, when slugs or snails touch copper, it creates a reaction that makes them turn away. Three Methods to Use Copper Mesh
Protecting Potted Plants
Loosely tie a strip of copper mesh around the pot's rim so it overhangs slightly. This creates a tricky surface that slugs struggle to cross, combining copper's repellent properties with a physical barrier.
Blocking Drainage Holes
Slugs can squeeze through drainage holes. Place a small piece of copper mesh over the holes at the bottom of pots. It allows water to drain but blocks slugs and snails from sneaking in.
