Zoe Ball's Mystery Lodger Has 'More Awards' Than Her

BBC presenter Zoe Ball has intriguingly revealed that a mystery man has moved into her Sussex home, a lodger who she claims has 'won more awards' than she has.

A New Chapter for the Radio Star

The 54-year-old broadcaster made the surprising revelation during a conversation on her Dig It podcast this Wednesday. While discussing Christmas gifts with co-host Jo Whiley, Zoe recounted a moment the new housemate walked in on her using a massage brush. "I remember the first time the lodger walked in and saw me doing it, and just sort of turned on his heels," she shared. When Jo asked if the man was still around, Zoe confirmed, "He's still here at the moment. He's still lodging."

Though she kept his identity a secret, the presenter couldn't resist highlighting his impressive accolades. Reflecting on her own awards, which include a Sony award and a BAFTA, Zoe admitted, "the lodger has won loads of awards… I need to up my..." Her co-host Jo Whiley jokingly suggested she should "steal them" and display them around the house.

Enduring Friendship with Ex-Husband

This personal update comes after her ex-husband, Fatboy Slim DJ Norman Cook, 62, recently spoke fondly about their enduring bond. The pair were married for 18 years before their split in 2016 but have remained close friends and co-parents to their two children, Woody, 24, and Nelly, 15. Norman has described Zoe as his "soulmate" and credited her with helping him navigate the whirlwind of fame in the 1990s.

"Zoe helped me through it as she knew that level of fame before," he told The Mirror. "She's a very kind, thoughtful person and she just had this way of just checking my ego... We could talk about it as we were thrust into the same spotlight. It was nice to have a soulmate in there with you."

Moving on from Past Relationships

Zoe's last public relationship was with former construction worker Michael Reed. The five-year relationship ended in 2023, with sources indicating it broke down after Reed became "a bit demanding." It was reported that Zoe asked him to move out of her £1.5 million Sussex home.

Prior to that relationship, Zoe dated cameraman Billy Yates, who tragically died by suicide in May 2017 after a long battle with depression. The arrival of a new, award-winning lodger signals a fresh and intriguing development in the popular presenter's life, sparking curiosity among her listeners and fans.
