Zoe Ball has revealed that a mystery man has moved into her home, describing him as a 'lodger' who has won numerous awards throughout his career. The BBC Radio 2 presenter, 54, hinted at a possible new romance during her Dig It podcast with friend Jo Whiley, two years after her split from construction worker Michael Reed.
Ball did not name the man but said he 'won loads of awards', adding that his trophy collection surpasses her own. She recalled her own accolades, including a Sony award presented by Marianne Faithfull and a BAFTA for the final episode of Live and Kicking, but noted she does not even have a copy of the BAFTA.
The broadcaster also addressed speculation about taking over as host of Strictly Come Dancing, following the departure of Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Ball said it would be 'the best gig in the world' but did not confirm any plans. She previously hosted the spin-off show It Takes Two.
Ball's relationship with Michael Reed ended in 2022 after five years, with friends saying they had drifted apart. A source at the time said Ball was 'gutted' but realised she was better off alone. Despite the split, she remains good friends with Reed.
