Reuben Owen Confirms Life in the Dales Future

Reuben Owen has provided an update on the future of Life in the Dales, confirming that the current season has just one episode left to air. The announcement has left many fans disappointed, with some expressing hope for another series.

Final Episode of Current Season

The young farmer, who rose to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm alongside his mother Amanda Owen, father Clive Owen, and siblings, now leads his own Channel 5 series. The show documents the highs and lows of his farming enterprise in Swaledale, North Yorkshire, featuring his girlfriend Jess, friends Sonny and Capper, and regular appearances from his family.

The latest episode aired on Tuesday evening, prompting the show's team to share a post on social media. They wrote: "What an amazing penultimate episode! Only one more to go! Here's some BTS of our wonderful cast and crew. Catch the season finale next week at 8pm on Channel 5. If you missed tonight's, don't worry, you can catch up at channel5.com!"

Fan Reactions

Fans have flooded social media with their reactions, many expressing sadness that the season is ending. One fan wrote: "Great episode. I really felt for Jess during the TB testing, so glad all went well, it's a joy to see her relationship with the cows. Lovely to see the success of the auction, congratulations Sonny and Capper - Reuben working his mechanical magic again!! What an exciting finale!!! Wow! Those balloons were magnificent."

Another commented: "This is the best feelgood programme. I can't wait for Tuesdays congratulations on making so many people happy!" A third added: "I could watch an episode of the team every week. It's great tv viewing."

One viewer said: "Really enjoyed the show once again, glad to see the TB tests went OK on the farm. Looking forward to next week already, but gutted it'll be the last episode for now." Another echoed: "Penultimate episode? Noooooooo. When is the next series?" Someone else pleaded: "Love watching you guys. I shall be sad on the last episode you better make another series pleaseeeeeee."

Emotional Episode

Tuesday's episode featured a particularly tense moment as Jess feared devastating losses on the farm. Her herd of cows were tested for bovine tuberculosis, which, if positive, would have meant they had to be slaughtered. Jess said: "I love what I do, I've done it since I was tiny, it's my dream job. I just love every part of it. I love getting up in the morning and seeing all the cows. These cows, we've bred them over the years, grandad's bred them and we've still got the same bloodline coming through. If we lost all these cows in one day, it would be devastating. Words can't really describe, it would be heartbreaking."

Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 5.
