Prince Harry's James Corden TV Appearance Will Embarrass UK

Prince Harry is about to embarrass the UK Royal Family yet again, and this time it’s even worse than flip-flopping on his Buckingham Palace stay, according to a scathing opinion piece by Showbiz Editor Jess Phillips.

Harry's Disastrous UK Visit

Harry arrived back in Britain on July 6 without his wife Meghan Markle and children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Meghan withdrew due to security concerns at the last minute. Harry then accepted an invitation to stay with his father, King Charles, at Buckingham Palace – but missed the deadline, and the offer was rescinded. The whole episode has left Harry red-faced.

James Corden Appearance Sparks Fury

But it gets more humiliating: Harry is set to appear on James Corden’s Fox show After Hours in the coming weeks. The pair have been friends for years, with Corden attending Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018. Harry previously appeared on Corden’s now-axed Late Late Show in 2021, riding a double-decker bus around Los Angeles while singing the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song. That segment was branded an “embarrassing load of piffle” by a royal commentator at the time.

Corden's Controversial Reputation

Corden, creator of the beloved sitcom Gavin and Stacey, left UK fans fuming when he moved to the US. He has faced accusations of plagiarising Ricky Gervais, advocating for lower pay for TV writers, and being “extremely nasty” to restaurant staff – for which he later apologised. Phillips argues that appearing with such a divisive figure will only worsen Harry’s standing with the British public.

“Could Harry have chosen a more divisive figure to appear alongside? Perhaps only if he’d opted for another bout with Oprah Winfrey,” Phillips wrote.

No Road to Reconciliation

Phillips concludes that no amount of joking around with Corden will repair the distrust caused by Harry’s actions. “The man needs to keep his head down if he ever wants a real reconciliation with his family,” she said.
