Netflix has confirmed that the fifth and final season of Outer Banks will premiere on Thursday, August 20, 2026, bringing the popular treasure-hunting series to its epic conclusion.
What to Expect in the Final Season
The final season will see the Pogues at their lowest point following the tragic death of JJ (Rudy Pankow) in Morocco. They have lost the Blue Crown treasure and face familiar threats while mourning their fallen friend.
Returning cast members include Kiara (Madison Bailey), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Cleo (Carlacia Grant), and Rafe (Drew Starkey). JJ's killer, his own father Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane), remains at large with the Corsairs pursuing the group.
Official Teases and Quotes
"The Pogues are in a desperate race to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they've always been chasing," Netflix teases. The streaming giant promises it will be "the Pogues against the world" as they seek revenge.
Creators Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke said: "We are over the moon to be setting out on one last trip with the Pogues." They described returning to set as "bittersweet and surreal."
