Northern Lights Returns to Newcastle for 2026 Christmas

Northern Lights, one of Newcastle's most anticipated festive events, will return to Leazes Park from November 20 to December 31, 2026, with a brand-new Christmas Time Machine theme. The event promises 11 installations, more interactive moments, and additional selfie spots, making it potentially the best edition yet.

Christmas Time Machine Theme Unveiled

The all-new Christmas experience is inspired by the moments, traditions, and memories that make the festive season magical across generations. Visitors can expect a nostalgic journey through time featuring original installations, interactive areas, selfie spots, and a marshmallow zone. Highlights include Lava Lamps, Nutcrackers, Kaleidoscopes, and the Gobo Walk, created by children who have extended stays at Great North Children's Hospital.

Expanded Offerings and Attractions

Beyond the trail, the event will feature fairground rides, cozy festive pit stops, and an expanded Christmas Village showcasing artisan food and drink producers from across the region. Early Bird tickets, offering the best value, go on sale at 11am on Thursday, July 2. Families can also take advantage of a limited Kids Go Free offer on selected off-peak dates, available while allocations last. Inclusive evenings with reduced capacity and lower audio levels will take place on December 2 and 9.
