McFly Cardiff Castle Gig Goes Ahead Amid Extreme Heat Warning
McFly Cardiff Gig Amid Extreme Heat Warning

McFly are set to perform at Cardiff Castle tonight despite a red weather warning for extreme heat and significant travel disruption. Temperatures could climb to around 38°C in parts of south-east Wales, with the warning in place until 11pm.

Travel Disruption

Transport for Wales has cancelled rail services this week due to the forecasted weather. Services between Cardiff Central and Ebbw Vale Town may be cancelled until 23:30 due to a shortage of trains caused by extreme heat. Services from Pontypridd to Cardiff Bay are also cancelled; passengers should use alternative services and change at Cardiff Queen Street. Great Western Railway has advised customers to travel only if essential on Wednesday and Thursday.

Extra Measures for Concert-Goers

Organisers have introduced additional measures to help fans cope with the heat. Attendees may now bring two 500ml sealed bottles of water per person, up from one. Free water refill stations and additional shaded areas will be available across the site. Plastic refillable water bottles and mini fans are permitted. An enhanced welfare team will be present to provide support.
