Lorenzo Alessi, a fan favourite on Love Island, has been issued a warning by producers for his reluctance to engage in conversations with female islanders, according to dumped contestant Ope Sowande. The 28-year-old fashion business owner, who has been in the villa since the start of the series, is now coupled up with Casa Amor bombshell Julia Majchrzak. The pair were recently crowned the public's favourite couple, a title that came with the responsibility of eliminating one of the three least popular couples, leading to the departure of Sean Fitzgerald and Lola Deal.
Ope Sowande Reveals Lorenzo's Beach Hut Summons
Ope Sowande, who was eliminated early in the series alongside Victoria Onanusi, shared details of Lorenzo's producer warning while speaking with Season 7 Islander Chloe Burrows. Ope described Lorenzo's laid-back attitude, saying, "He's amazing. He just doesn't give a f***. I would get really stressed in there and he'd be like 'Why are you stressing?'" Ope recalled a specific incident where Lorenzo refused to chat with a female islander late at night, stating he was "all chatted out." Despite being asked again, Lorenzo declined, leading to an immediate summons to the Beach Hut for a conversation with producers.
Lorenzo's Coffee Promise to His Mother
Lorenzo also faced viewer backlash for hesitating to make coffee for Julia, despite her request. It later emerged that he had made a promise to his mother not to make coffee for anyone in the villa. On Love Island's spin-off Aftersun, his mother explained, "He's been watching this since he was a kid with me... And he's always been like, 'I've never ever seen a girl make a coffee for a guy.' To wind me up he said, 'I promise you, I'm not going to make anyone a coffee.'"
Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
