Love Island star Kaz Kamwi has suggested that Islanders should undergo a compatibility test to help them find a more suitable partner. Speaking to Daily Star, the 2022 finalist proposed an alternative to the current format, where couples are often tested by the notorious Casa Amor twist. She said: 'I actually think I would have the Islanders do some kind of like compatibility test, where on that date they're the ones who paired themselves up together through like a quick test. That's what I would do.'
Praise for Hunger Games Edition
Kamwi also expressed approval for the start of this year's series, which featured a 'Hunger Games' style twist where contestants had to pick a co-star on the spot. She commented: 'But I kind of like the Hunger Games edition that they chose this time, and they said pick a person, then... sorry, what? I thought that was great.'
Importance of Diversity
Kamwi emphasized the importance of maintaining a diverse lineup to give Islanders more options for forming connections. She stated: 'I'd keep the line-up diverse. I think it's nicer when people have options, because then people make connections much, much quicker, like the thing of having to wait three, four or five weeks for a bombshell, for some people it's just not a vibe.'
Behind-the-Scenes Phone Call Secrets
Kamwi also revealed details about the limited contact Islanders have with the outside world. She explained that Islanders must surrender their phones upon entering the villa and are only given villa-specific phones for twists. Finalists are allowed a chaperone and one phone call home at the end of the show. However, Kamwi was permitted two one-hour phone calls after being dumped from the All Stars series and placed in isolation for 24 hours. She said: 'The producers were quite nice, and they let me have two one hour phone calls.'
Discussing her exit, Kamwi added: 'I think I left All Stars a week before the final. Very different actually, because I got dumped by myself, and I was like, "Wait, this is what happens when you get dumped on your own." I was in a villa with a chaperone, but I didn't have my phone for like 24 hours. I was quite lucky, because my episode aired straight away. I didn't realise that sometimes when people get dumped, they don't have a phone for like two or three days, because you have to wait for the episode to air. It's insane, because in the final, you don't have your phone, but you get a phone call home. I remember thinking, "That was the longest 24 hours of my life!"'
Kamwi appeared on Love Island in 2022 and reached the final with ex-partner Tyler Cruickshank. She returned for the All Stars series in 2024. Her comments were made to BestBettingSites.co.uk, a leading comparison site for online casinos.
