Love Island fans were left reeling after a shocking twist resulted in two islanders being brutally axed from the villa during a dramatic recoupling on July 7.
Recoupling Shock for Casa Girls
During the latest instalment of the ITV2 reality dating show, an unexpected recoupling brought a harsh conclusion to the bombshells' quest for love. After several days of tension following movie night, the islanders had settled into another day of villa life when Aidan received a message while lounging in the snug with Priya and Mara. Breaking the news, Aidan announced: 'Islanders, tonight there will be a recoupling, in which the boys will choose which girl they want to couple up with.'
The Casa girls seemed most anxious about the upcoming recoupling, with Martha admitting to Charleen and Julia: 'That's our worst-case scenario.' Julia confided: 'I'm so worried.'
Charleen and Mara Sent Home
Following the nail-biting recoupling ceremony, it was Charleen and Mara who found themselves heading home. Viewers at home were quick to voice their shock on social media, with one posting: 'This isn't a recoupling I expecting lol #loveislanduk #loveisland.' Another penned: 'Well that shocked me I honestly thought Jordan was going to pick Mara! #LoveIsland.' A third added: 'The way everyone is super shocked by the last two couplings. So am I tbh #loveisland.' One fan chimed in: 'I feel so bad for Charleen and Mara. They were done so dirty by those manchildren every year.'
Kavan Ends Love Triangle
This follows an earlier scene where Kavan finally resolved his love triangle. The 21-year-old was paired with Jasmine but had brought back Casa bombshell Charleen. Just hours before the recoupling, Kavan joined Aidan, Lorenzo and Samraj on the daybeds and declared he had made a decision, opting to return to Jasmine. Leaving his mates gobsmacked, he announced: 'I've just ended it with Charleen.' As Aidan recoiled in surprise, Kavan added: 'I can't help how I feel, boys.' Samraj supported him, saying: 'You can't just turn off your feelings.' Kavan explained: 'I don't just want to string her along. It's going to be 100 per cent or nothing and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.' Lorenzo reassured him: 'I think this is a wise thing to do.'
