Lorraine Kelly has been called upon to make a guest appearance on Emmerdale after the ITV soap name-checked her daytime show. The presenter, a self-confessed fan, took to Instagram to share her excitement after a recent episode featured a reference to her programme.
Soap Drama Unfolds with Return of Kev Townsend
Recent episodes of Emmerdale have been filled with drama, including the return of Chris Coghill as Kev Townsend. Kev first appeared last year as Robert Sugden's secret prison husband, revealing he was terminally ill and wanted to spend his remaining days with Robert. However, Robert was trying to reunite with ex-husband Aaron Dingle, leading Kev to brandish a sword and leave the village "for good."
Before leaving, Kev dropped a bombshell: he is the biological father of Lewis Barton, following a one-night stand with Emma Barton. Months later, Ross Barton tracked Kev down, finding him selling lemon drizzle cake from a van. Ross begged Kev to help rescue Lewis, who had been abducted by Kev's former partner, Kylie, as revenge.
Kev Reveals Truth to Lewis
Kev agreed to help and, despite Ross's warnings, told Lewis the truth. In a dramatic scene, Kev sang Boyzone's "Father and Son" before revealing he was Lewis's father, leaving Lewis and Vinny stunned. In the lead-up to the rescue, Liam, Kev, and Ross discussed visiting a pawn shop to return a diamond Kylie wanted. Liam mentioned he got the idea from the ITV daytime show Lorraine.
