Josh Homme Warns Fans Before Celebrity Gogglebox Debut

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has issued a tongue-in-cheek warning to fans ahead of his debut on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside longtime friend Jake Shears, the lead singer of Scissor Sisters. The rock duo will appear on the Channel 4 show this Friday at 9pm.

Homme's Warning to Viewers

Teasing what fans can expect when the pair take to the sofa, Josh joked: "You've never watched anyone watch TV until you've watched Josh and Jake watching TV. And then you know you've watched it." He added: "So set your watch for 9pm on Friday. We are breaking ground that should largely have gone unbroken."

The musicians will swap arena tours and festival stages for an evening of television, sharing their reactions to the week's biggest talking points. Both have enjoyed hugely successful music careers, selling millions of records and performing to audiences worldwide.

Jake Shears' Long-Held Ambition

Jake Shears said appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox felt like a natural fit after years of performing together, admitting he and Josh spent much of the filming laughing. He also revealed that taking part in the Channel 4 show had been a long-held ambition for him, saying: "It was a longtime dream to be part of Celebrity Gogglebox."

Josh's TV appearance comes during a busy week for the musician, with Queens of the Stone Age making their musical comeback after three years by releasing their new single, "Easy Street." The track, which arrived on Tuesday, features guest vocals from Nikki Lane, according to the Mirror. Fans of the band may already recognise the track, as it debuted live during the Catacombs tour last year.

Other Celebrities Joining the Show

Also joining this series of Celebrity Gogglebox are singer Mollie King and her partner, former England cricketer Stuart Broad. They will be providing their takes on the week's television highlights.

Returning favourites include newly added Olivia Attwood and her mum, while Pete Wicks is back alongside close friend Vicky Pattison. Other celebrities sharing their opinions will be Mo Gilligan and Babatunde Aleshe, Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan, Gladiators’ Nitro and Legend, and Julian Clary with actor and television presenter Nigel Havers.

Celebrity Gogglebox airs this Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
