Where Was I, Jack Wright Filmed?

The BBC's gripping murder mystery I, Jack Wright was predominantly filmed in and around Greater London, with key locations in Hertfordshire. The six-part series, written by Chris Lang (Unforgotten, Innocent), debuted in April 2025 on U&Alibi before being acquired by the BBC. The BBC has also commissioned a second series, currently in production.

Key Filming Locations

The principal family residence, Marston House, was shot at the Mansion House in North Mymms Park, Hertfordshire. Other Hertfordshire locations include Bovingdon Airfield and Gadebridge Park in Hemel Hempstead. London scenes were captured in Hackney, Russell Square, and Old Deer Park in Richmond. Additional filming took place at Aylesbury Crown Court.

Studio Filming and the Will Reading Scene

Numerous powerful scenes were filmed at the studio, including the reading of Jack's will at the end of episode one. Writer Chris Lang explained: "I always knew it had to come at the end of episode one because it brings all the key characters together and marks the point where the main story begins." He added: "It's a highly stylised scene that uses a range of visual devices, including freeze frames, voiceovers and flash-forwards."
