An underappreciated horror film is finally receiving the acclaim it merits on streaming services. 'They Will Kill You' arrived in cinemas last March; nevertheless, it only generated approximately £14.2 million ($19 million) in box office takings.
Following its recent arrival on streaming platforms such as HBO Max and NOW, it appears 'They Will Kill You' is being afforded a second opportunity. The film currently occupies the premier position on HBO Max in the United States and sits at number two on HBO UK and Ireland.
Plot and Cast
'They Will Kill You' features Deadpool and Atlanta's Zazie Beetz as former prisoner Asia Reaves, who secures employment as a housekeeper in an enigmatic New York City tower block. She remains oblivious to what her new position involves until she uncovers that she's employed by a satanic cult, which intends to use her as their next human offering. Asia must employ every means at her disposal to survive against the cult members while confined within the lethal mansion. Utilising her prison combat expertise, Asia fights back against the cult and flees from the trap-laden building.
Alongside Beetz, 'They Will Kill You' boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including HBO's Industry star Myha'la, British actor Paterson Joseph of Green Wing and The Noughts and Crosses renown, Harry Potter star Tom Felton, Heather Graham from Austin Powers, and Severance's Patricia Arquette.
