HGTV personality Egypt Sherrod has shared a shocking health update, revealing she suffered a freak accident that left two of her toes 'shattered' by a falling piece of marble.
A Painful Setback During Recovery
The Married to Real Estate co-host, 49, had been focusing on her recuperation following an undisclosed surgical procedure when the bizarre incident occurred. Sherrod explained that she had spent the previous five weeks stepping back from public life to heal.
Just as she felt she was getting back on her feet, disaster struck. 'Now here's the wild part… just as I finally got back on my feet last week, a literal piece of marble fell on my foot and shattered two of my toes. TWO,' Sherrod wrote in a detailed Instagram post. She added emphatically, 'The devil is absolutely a liar.'
Staying Positive Despite the Ordeal
Despite this painful and unexpected setback, the property expert is determined to maintain a positive mindset. Sherrod is framing the accident as an event confined to 2025 and is refusing to let any negative energy carry into the new year.
'This still happened in 2025, the year of the snake, so I'm rebuking all of this energy for 2026, the year of the horse,' she stated. 'No carryover. None.' Her message has resonated with fans, who flooded her post with supportive comments and well-wishes for a speedy recovery.
Career Context and Fan Support
The accident comes after a professionally challenging period for Sherrod and her husband, Mike Jackson. Their popular HGTV show, Married to Real Estate, which launched in 2022 and attracted 16.6 million viewers for its third season, was cancelled by the network in June 2025 while the couple were on holiday.
Fans were quick to link their support for her recovery with their affection for the shelved series. One commented, 'I miss y'all's show Married to Real Estate so much that I've been watching reruns. I pray you get well soon.' Another supporter wrote, 'Can't keep a strong woman down long.'
Beyond television, Sherrod remains the CEO of the Egypt Sherrod Real Estate Group, while Jackson runs Jackson Draper Renovations. The pair also host the successful Marriage and Money podcast and have previously served as judges and competitors on HGTV's Rock the Block.
