Foo Fighters Send Message to Liverpool Fans Before Anfield Show

Foo Fighters have sent a last-minute message to thousands of fans set to fill Anfield Stadium this week. The American rock giants will take the stage at Liverpool FC's Anfield Stadium for the first of two eagerly awaited concerts on Thursday, June 25, before returning for a second show on Saturday, June 27.

Band's Message to Fans

Taking to social media ahead of the Take Cover tour stop, the band shared stage times alongside a message: “LIVERPOOL NIGHT ONE! LET’S GO!!! Gonna be a hot one - stay hydrated!” The band is set to perform from 7:15pm to 10:15pm, with doors opening at 4pm. Support acts include Otoboke Beaver and Inhaler.

Foo Fighters' History and Anfield Connection

Founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl after Kurt Cobain's death in 1994, Foo Fighters began as a solo project before evolving into a full band in 1995. Over three decades, they have become one of the world's most successful rock acts, with hits like My Hero, All My Life, and Best of You. The upcoming concerts are their first at Anfield, though Dave Grohl previously performed there with Sir Paul McCartney during the 2008 Liverpool Capital of Culture celebration.

Dave Grohl on Anfield and Paul McCartney

Speaking on Absolute Radio's Dave Berry Breakfast on February 23, 2026, Dave Grohl discussed his friendship with Sir Paul McCartney and the upcoming shows. When asked if McCartney might join them on stage, Grohl said: "When I first found out we were doing that gig I let him know and he was like, 'oh you're going to have a blast, it'll be amazing'. Yeah, Liverpool's awesome, that place is great! I was actually surprised we're only doing two shows in the UK on that trip. I think that we should do more."
