EastEnders' Eve Panesar-Unwin is left feeling disheartened next week as she watches her foster daughter Ria bond more easily with her wife Suki, while she struggles to form a connection with the youngster. The couple, played by Heather Peace and Balvinder Sopal, recently had their adoption application approved and welcomed a young girl named Ria into their home.
Suki's Breakthrough with Ria
After weeks of trying to connect with Ria, Suki finally has a breakthrough in scenes airing from Monday 6th July. The youngster starts to gravitate towards Suki, which is a relief for the new mother but leaves Eve feeling left out. Eve is desperate to build a bond with Ria but finds herself unable to do so, adding to her anxiety.
Nicola's Blackmail Threat
Eve's troubles are compounded by the ongoing threat from Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington). Earlier, Eve struck Nicola after she goaded her about Suki's past parenting failures. The attack was captured on CCTV at the club, and Nicola has been using the footage to blackmail Eve, threatening to report her to the police. Eve has a prior prison sentence for assault, which could jeopardize her future as a foster parent.
Eve confessed the truth to Suki, and the couple vowed to move forward. However, the blackmail threat remains, and Nicola could destroy their newfound happiness at any moment. The question is whether Eve can overcome these challenges and embrace family life with Ria.
What's Next for the Couple?
As Eve watches Suki and Ria grow closer, she must also deal with the constant fear that Nicola will expose her secret. Will the blackmail tear apart everything they've worked for, or will Eve find a way to put her troubles behind her and focus on her new role as a mother?
EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 6th July at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
