Emmerdale newcomer Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) has had her secret past exposed by fellow villager Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), who claims she worked as a prison guard. The revelation came after Kev recognised Serena outside the Woolpack but couldn't place her. When he later confronted her inside the pub, he insisted she had been a 'screw' – slang for a prison officer.
Serena Denies Kev's Accusations
Serena denied Kev's claims but asked him to drop the conversation. However, with Serena having now accepted Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) offer to permanently move into Emmerdale farm, avoiding Kev may prove difficult. The newcomer arrived in the village last month after helping Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) through a crisis involving Doctor Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) and baby Leyla. Serena encouraged Charity to report Caitlin's blackmail to the police.
Kev's History of Deception
Kev has a track record of lying. When he first arrived in Emmerdale, it was revealed he had been telling a massive lie to Robert about his health. This raises questions about whether his claims about Serena are truthful. Fans are now speculating about what Serena might be hiding and whether Kev has a different reason for targeting her.
Serena has reconnected with Robert and Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and is getting to know other residents. But with Kev's bombshell now hanging over her, her future in the village looks uncertain.
