EastEnders Teases Anna Knight Return as Cindy Confirms Wedding

EastEnders has teased the return of Anna Knight less than a year after she left Walford for Australia, with Cindy Beale confirming her daughter will attend her wedding to Max Branning.

Cindy Confirms Anna's Return

During Wednesday's episode (July 1), Max Branning and Cindy celebrated their engagement with a party at The Vic. Gina, Anna's sister, mentioned that Anna would be there if she could, and Peter Beale asked if Anna is coming to the wedding. Cindy replied: "Yeah, of course she is," seemingly confirming her daughter's return to Walford.

Anna's History in Walford

Anna first arrived in Walford in June 2023 as part of the Knight family, led by former pro-boxer George Knight. She quickly settled into the Queen Vic after George began a relationship with Elaine Peacock. Anna had a romance with Bobby Beale and became pregnant, but chose to end the pregnancy with support from Freddie Slater, with whom she later developed romantic feelings.

Date Rape Storyline

In July 2024, EastEnders highlighted the issue of date rape substances when Anna's drink was tampered with during a night out. The storyline included an exclusive five-part digital mini-series from Anna's perspective.

Family Revelations

It was later revealed that Anna and her sister Gina are the daughters of Cindy Beale, who was previously married to George while they lived in Spain. In December 2025, Anna and Freddie left Walford for Australia, but now Anna's return appears imminent.

Wedding Plans

During the engagement party, Ian Beale, George, and others celebrated with Cindy and Max. Cindy expressed her love for her children, and Gina noted Anna's absence, leading to Cindy's confirmation that Anna will attend the wedding. Viewers will have to wait to see if Anna returns permanently.

EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One and iPlayer.
