Death in Paradise star Shaquille Ali-Yebuah has offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of series 16, sharing a video on Instagram of himself and co-stars interacting with enthusiastic supporters. The actor, who plays Officer Sebastian (Seb) Rose, joined the BBC series in 2025 and has since become a fan favourite.
Behind-the-Scenes Footage Shows Fan Encounters
In the Instagram clip, Ali-Yebuah, dressed in his character's uniform, is seen shaking hands with one woman before moving to another who screams with delight as they prepare for a photograph. His co-star Shantol Jackson, who portrays Detective Sergeant Naomi Thomas, joins them for the picture, and the fan is heard shouting, 'Oh my god!'
As they pose, Don Gilet, who plays DI Mervin Wilson, suddenly bursts into frame, sparking further excitement. One section of the clip features the woman expressing her passion for the programme, telling Ali-Yebuah she has watched Death in Paradise from the first season through to the most recent series numerous times.
Global Fans Travel to Guadeloupe Set
Ali-Yebuah wrote alongside the post: 'Honestly, Big Shoutout to all the DIP fans Worldwide. We regularly get fans from all over the globe flying in just to visit us, (and trust me the island isn't easy to get to!) The love is crazy, these amazing DIP fans flew all the way from Australia, UK & Netherlands just to meet us & visit the set.'
Offering a brief update on the next instalment, he hinted: 'We love & appreciate you all, Season 16 coming soon.'

BBC Confirms Two More Series
Earlier this year, the BBC confirmed that the programme had been commissioned for a further two series as filming began in Guadeloupe. Tim Key, Executive Producer at Red Planet Pictures, commented: 'We remain incredibly proud of the show and the team that makes it, and delighted that the audience continues to love it as much as we do. The response to our latest series has been wonderful and we can't wait to get started again - we've got something very special lined up to kick off our 16th season, with a big surprise setting it up in our Christmas special.
