Next week on Coronation Street, police confirm the identity of Theo's murderer, Kit Green proposes to Sarah Barlow, and Betsy Swain is rushed to hospital after collapsing at home.
Betsy's Health Crisis
After a disastrous attempt at cooking breakfast for Dylan, Betsy asks him for cooking lessons. Dylan shows Betsy how to make a bolognese and assures her that they will make their long-distance relationship work. Betsy smiles and they hug. Later, an ambulance pulls away from number six with its siren blaring. At the hospital, Ryan explains to Carla how he returned home to find Betsy unconscious on the kitchen floor.
At Betsy's bedside, a nurse explains to a tearful Lisa that they are taking Betsy for an MRI scan. Dylan arrives to see Betsy but comes running out of the room and tells Lisa and Carla that she seems to be having some kind of fit. Lisa and Carla watch in horror as the doctor tends to Betsy.
Lisa Blames Dylan
An upset Betsy begs Lisa not to blame Dylan for what happened. When Sean suggests to Dylan that they go together to visit Betsy, Dylan shuts the conversation down, leaving Sean suspicious. Later in the cafe, Sean is shocked when a furious Lisa turns on Dylan and blames him for Betsy's collapse. Lisa calls at the station and tells the desk sergeant she would like to report a crime.
Dylan is upset when Lauren tells him that Betsy is in a bad way and does not want to see him. A shocked Fiz tells Sean that she has just seen two police officers arrest Dylan at the precinct. Unaware that Lauren told Dylan to stay away, Betsy is stunned to discover Lisa has reported him to the police. Later, when Sean and Dylan go into The Rovers, Lauren refuses to serve them. But Dylan says that he believes Brody was responsible for what happened to Betsy.
Kit's Suspicion and Proposal
Having clocked Gary and Maria arguing on the street, Kit tells Lisa he is suspicious of their behaviour. Lisa reminds him he is off the case. Meanwhile, an upset Maria confides in Sarah that her marriage is falling apart. Sarah tells Gary that she is struggling with her guilt, but Gary begs her to keep quiet, otherwise he could go to prison.
Sarah arrives home to find Kit has cooked a romantic lunch. Kit drops to one knee and asks her to marry him. What answer will she give? Later in the week, Kit warns Sarah that her freedom is in Gary's hands and she needs to get hold of his phone so they can delete any data which might incriminate her. Kit secretly calls the guy tasked with wiping the data from Gary's phone and asks him to forward any information he can find to his personal email address.
Theo's Murderer Confirmed
On the street, DC McLaughlin tells Lisa that they are ready to arrest Theo's murderer. The identity of the killer is finally revealed, bringing the investigation to a climax.
