Coronation Street fans are convinced they know what Sarah Platt will do next as she desperately tries to keep her role in Theo Silverton's death hidden. Dramatic scenes aired on Monday, June 22, revealed that Sarah was the one who dealt the fatal blow to Theo, ending his reign of terror in Weatherfield. Theo had subjected his partner, Todd Grimshaw, to months of physical and mental abuse.
Theo's body discovered on wedding night
As viewers recall, Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor back in April. The identity of the victim was kept under wraps until a week after the wedding, when it was confirmed that Theo was the one killed. His death triggered a murder investigation, with Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Summer Spellman, Christina Boyd, Gary Windass and Danielle Silverton all named as suspects.
Flashback reveals Sarah as the killer
However, Monday's episode showed a dark flashback revealing that Sarah was the true killer. On the night of Theo's death, Sarah received a suspicious text from Todd's phone and headed to the flat Theo shared with Todd. There, she was confronted by a drunk Theo on the scaffolding outside. Theo taunted Sarah, bringing up the son she and Todd lost 21 years ago. As the confrontation turned violent, Theo threatened Sarah, who grabbed a metal pipe and struck him on the head, sending him crashing to the ground.
Realising what she had done, Sarah called Gary Windass for help. Gary, who has been keeping Sarah's secret, is struggling to come clean to his wife Maria, even as their marriage is on the line.
Fans predict Sarah will frame Gary
Now, Coronation Street fans believe Sarah will betray Gary to save herself, especially as her partner, DC Kit Green, appears determined to pin the murder on Gary. Social media was abuzz with predictions. @KP198408 said: "Sarah is going to throw Gary under the bus and her copper boyfriend is going to help stitch him up. #corrie." @CavoloChe commented: "Sarah is really not going to take the blame for this…I think Maria will come clean and say she wasn’t with Gary and she got bumped on the head… #Corrie."
