Coronation Street Fans Predict Sarah's Betrayal by Bethany

Coronation Street fans are convinced that Sarah Platt's murder of Theo Silverton will be exposed by her own daughter, Bethany, in a devastating betrayal. The ITV soap revealed on Monday (June 22) that Sarah killed Theo with a metal pole on scaffolding, with ex-boyfriend Gary Windass helping cover up the crime.

Flashback Reveals True Killer

During the episode, a flashback showed Sarah attacking Theo after he abused her. She struck him with a metal pole, leaving him lifeless on the ground. Panicked, Sarah called Gary, who instructed her to find an alibi and sent a fake message from Theo's phone to his sister Danielle. Shortly after, Sarah was attacked by Jodie Ramsey at number eight, leading to her hospitalisation.

The police had initially arrested six suspects: Todd Grimshaw, George Shuttleworth, Gary Windass, Christina Boyd, Danielle Silverton, and Summer Spellman. Summer even spent time in prison for the crime. However, only viewers know the truth.

Fans Predict Bethany's Betrayal

Many fans are now predicting that Bethany Platt will discover her mother's secret and turn her in. One viewer wrote on X: 'Bethany has a storyline coming up that's gonna make the fans hate her... What if she finds out Sarah killed Theo and for some reason decides to tell the police and it sends Sarah to prison.' Another added: 'That's a good theory.'

A third fan speculated: 'Maybe Sarah pushes Kit away because she can't keep lying to him and that leads to him and Bethany? I'm getting a feeling Jodie and Sarah are going to help each other out.' They continued: 'I can't see why they would have Jodie hit Sarah, unless they both need someone to cover for the other. Sarah doesn't turn Jodie in, Jodie gives Sarah an alibi.'

What's Next for Sarah?

With only fans aware of Sarah's guilt, her downfall seems inevitable. The betrayal by Bethany could lead to Sarah's arrest and imprisonment, adding to the drama on the cobbles. Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
