Will Gives Up Athletics
Later, Will announces that he is giving up athletics, as it constantly reminds him of Megan. Meanwhile, Abi leaves a message for her landlord complaining about a damp issue in her flat. When she heads to Speed Daal, she calls the landlord, only for Idris's phone to answer.
As Abi confronts Idris, things take a worrying turn when Alfie continues coughing, with black mould visible behind his bed. Alfie struggles to breathe, and a panicked Abi calls Kevin, who rushes them to A&E. At the hospital, tests are run on Alfie, while Idris and Brody head to the flat and are shocked to find the mould.
Alfie's Health Crisis
Hearing Alfie is in a bad way, Idris goes to the hospital and learns the mould caused his breathing difficulties. Idris realizes whoever sold him the flat must have known about the damp. When Abi catches Brody and Idris acting suspiciously, she warns Sally about the pair forcing a man into a car. As Alfie and Abi stay with Kevin, Abi tells Idris she is taking him to court.
Meanwhile, Brody introduces Idris to his dad Kit, but Idris is uneasy when he learns Kit is a police officer. Sally urges Abi to sue Idris, and they ask Adam to take on her case.
Hope and Ruby's Surprise for Tyrone
Hope and Ruby plan a surprise for Tyrone, leaving Cassie intrigued. They declare everything is in place for their big plan, and Fiz wants answers. Cassie is fed up with Tracy coming between her and Steve, leading to a bold proposal. Cassie feels let down and heads to a hotel to drown her sorrows, making a pass at a man. When she returns home, she accepts Hope's invitation for a family meal.
As Steve tells Cassie he wants to get back on track, she feels guilty. Soon, Hope and Ruby reveal their big surprise for Tyrone: they sent off a sample of his DNA and tracked down his long-lost father. Ross, Tyrone's dad, soon shows up, eager to meet Tyrone, but Cassie is against it. Ross quickly takes a liking to Tracy when he bumps into her.
Christina's Secret Exposed
Christina's secret is revisited when her phone vibrates and the caller's identity leaves her rattled. George suggests a romantic dinner at the bistro, but Christina turns him down, claiming she has a cleaning job. Suspicious, Glenda rummages through Christina's handbag and is shocked by what she finds. A concerned George follows Christina and watches in horror as she embraces a mystery man. Christina is forced to confess the trouble she is in, but George urges her to come clean to her friends.
Other Storylines
Lisa tells Todd that they have reached a stalemate with Theo's murder. When Todd shows little interest, Lisa is suspicious. Kit is frustrated to be taken off the case, while Maria is asked to go over her statement yet again. She soon admits to Kit she is sick of all the lies. Finally, Betsy wants to spend time with Dylan before her planned move to London.
