Jeremy Clarkson has reignited his combative streak, this time targeting naturalist and Springwatch host Chris Packham. The 66-year-old former Top Gear host responded angrily after Packham criticised Clarkson's Farm during an episode of Celebrity Gogglebox. Packham, appearing on the show with his stepdaughter Megan McCubbin, dismissed the depiction of farming in Clarkson's series as unrealistic and misleading.
What Did Chris Packham Say?
During the fifth episode of series eight of Celebrity Gogglebox, aired on July 3, 2026, Packham launched into a critique of Clarkson's Farm. After watching the show's animated intro, he remarked, 'Already, right, that's not what a farm looks like. Most farms are horrible monocultures, which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals time and time again. The ground pumped full of fertiliser, and loads of the animals are indoors in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark.' He added, 'That's an idealistic view of a farm, and it puts the wrong idea in people's minds. And that's only the titles!' He then joked about his blood pressure.
Jeremy Clarkson's Response
Clarkson fired back in his July 10 column for The Sun, dismissing Packham's claims as 'b******s'. He pointed out that Packham had visited his farm, Diddly Squat, in 2012 for a day of foraging and bird watching, implying the naturalist should know better. Clarkson described Packham as 'endlessly angry'.

Harriet Cowan, who briefly replaced Kaleb Cooper in series 4 of Clarkson's Farm, also responded on TikTok. In a video featuring Packham's rant, she toured a farm showcasing diverse animals and crops, captioning it: 'Chris Packham. Maybe before throwing shade at all farmers, research your facts. What world are you living in?' Metro has reached out to both parties for comment.
Context of Clarkson's Feuds
Clarkson has a history of public spats, including with former Prime Minister Keir Starmer, BBC bosses over a hotel fracas, and Piers Morgan at the British Press Awards. However, he and Morgan have since reconciled. This latest clash with Packham highlights Clarkson's continued willingness to engage in controversy, even as he has mellowed in recent years.
