Pretty Picture Company has opened its 2026 Christmas showroom in Blaydon, Gateshead, bringing festive cheer to the North East in July for the second consecutive year. The showroom, located on Tundry Way, features a stunning array of Christmas decorations, displays, and accessories, offering early shoppers a chance to get into the holiday spirit despite the summer heatwave.
Early Festive Opening
Last year, the business welcomed customers in mid-August, but this year they have opened even earlier in July. Founder Hannah Gray, who has grown the business significantly over seven years, explained that Christmas planning starts in January. The company now decorates homes of TV stars and Premier League footballers, does displays across the UK, and has a second headquarters in Manchester. Gray noted that the first booking for Christmas 2026 was taken in December 2025.
Founder's Perspective
"I know there'll be people groaning that 'it's only July,' but for us this is an all year round business," Gray said. "We start planning Christmas from January and a lot of work goes into it. We know from all the people that came in last year, that there are plenty out there who love starting early when it comes to getting sorted for Christmas. And also, I feel like we could all use a bit of a distraction right now, so if we can bring some joy to people, by letting them come in, have a look around, and pick up some decorations, we're happy to do it."
New Themes and Online Expansion
The showroom offers a variety of themes and colours, including the Ralph Lauren-inspired Heritage collection, the Luxe collection, and Elegance, which takes inspiration from Chanel. One of the new themes is inspired by matcha, featuring sage greens, creams, and champagnes. The company has also expanded online, selling Christmas decorations and accessories in three key themes.
Services and Opening Hours
Pretty Picture Company will again provide home and business Christmas installations and bespoke doorway designs across the region. The showroom is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
