BBC Unveils Trailer for The Rapture with Star-Studded Cast

The BBC has released a first look trailer for The Rapture, a new psychological thriller described as "crackling with danger." The series stars Ruth Madeley, India Amarteifio, and Ruth Jones, and is an adaptation of Liz Jensen's bestselling novel.

Plot Overview

The story follows a teenager accused of murdering her mother who claims to have the ability to predict natural disasters. The trailer introduces Ruth Madeley as forensic psychologist Gabs Fox, who works at a high-security psychiatric hospital and encounters 17-year-old Bethany, played by India Amarteifio. Bethany is warned to be "very dangerous," but the teenager insists: "We are all here to find the truth."

Official Synopsis

An official synopsis reveals: "Bethany was convicted of murdering her mother but claims she is innocent. She is estranged from her father Leonard (played by Sam Hazeldine), who is the charismatic leader of an influential religious movement. Bethany tells Gabs that she has psychic powers and can predict the future - but what will it take for Gabs to believe her? And if Bethany didn't kill her mother, then who did?"
