Amy Dowden Joins Celebrity Hunted with Strictly Co-Star

Strictly Come Dancing favourite Amy Dowden is set to appear in the new series of Celebrity Hunted on Channel 4, teaming up with her Strictly co-star and reigning champion Carlos Gu. The 35-year-old dancer from Caerphilly, Wales, will join a star-studded line-up of celebrities going on the run to raise funds for Stand Up To Cancer.

Celebrity Duos on the Run

The celebrity pairs will attempt to evade capture by Ray Howard and his elite team of hunters for 14 days. Amy and Carlos, who recently completed a joint UK dance tour called Reborn, will need to disappear into mainland Britain, cutting themselves off from their usual lives and fame.

Other confirmed participants include EastEnders legend Brian Conley, who will appear alongside his daughter Lucy. Love Island stars Chris Taylor and Toby Aromolaran are also taking part, alongside JJ Chalmers, Sophie Morgan, and presenter siblings Scarlette and Stuart Douglas. Comedians Jen Brister and Laura Smythe complete the line-up.

Series Background

Celebrity Hunted first aired as a spin-off of the original Hunted series, which launched in 2015. The celebrity version debuted in 2017, with The Wanted singers Jay McGuinness and Siva Kaneswaran winning that year. The most recent series, which aired in early 2025, saw Christine McGuinness and Duncan James successfully evade the hunters.

Filming for the new series begins next month, with the show scheduled to air on Channel 4 in August. Ian Dunkley, Channel 4's Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editor, said: "When celebrities go on the run and are forced to engage the help of us mere mortals, chaos and comedy inevitably ensue. Hunted down by a motivated team of police and security professionals, this series reveals what it takes to remain hidden when everybody knows what you look like."

Fundraising for Cancer

The celebrities are raising money for Stand Up To Cancer, a campaign that funds groundbreaking cancer research. The show promises high-stakes drama as the fugitives must stay hidden, think fast, and trust no one to avoid leaving a trail that the hunters can follow.
