Former footballer and sports pundit Alex Scott has become the first celebrity to be eliminated from the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. The 41-year-old was voted off during Friday night's episode, which was filmed earlier in the week.
Emotional Exit and Hotel Reunion
After saying heartfelt goodbyes to her campmates, who gave her a huge round of applause, Alex crossed the iconic bridge where she was greeted by her friend, Regan Coleman. Her arrival at the Marriott hotel in Surfers Paradise on Wednesday night was an emotional moment, where she was met by the friends and family of fellow contestants.
The welcoming party included Kelly Brook's husband Jeremy Parisi, Martin Kemp's wife Shirlie Holliman, and Lisa Riley's fiancé Al Benkovic. Also present were Shona McGarty's sister Camilla and Jack Osbourne's wife, Aree Gearhart, with their three-year-old daughter, Maple.
Revealing Post-Exit Interview
Speaking to hosts Ant and Dec immediately after her exit, Alex expressed mixed emotions. "I'm free! It feels strange and doesn't feel real. Now I'm like, 'Oh, I'm out,'" she said. When asked if she was disappointed to be the first to leave, she insisted she wasn't, calling the experience "incredible" despite being "mentally tough."
She praised the bonds formed with her campmates, highlighting the laughter and connection they shared. The interview took a humorous turn when Alex was confronted about her contraband salt, which she confessed to sneaking in via her sock. "I don't know how many I took in, I just put them in my sock," she laughed, revealing that campmate Jack Osbourne was in on the secret.
Jungle Challenges and Winner Prediction
Alex didn't hold back when describing the worst part of jungle life, jokingly blaming national treasure Martin Kemp for a particularly unpleasant camp chore. "The toilet seat situation, the smell is awful and someone keeps leaving the seat up, but we can't say anything because he is a national treasure," she explained.
Before her final walk, Alex revealed who she wants to see win the ITV series, backing her campmate Shona McGarty for the crown. She believes a win would give Shona a significant confidence boost, though she also mentioned she'd love to see 'Ginge and Aitch' in the final.
Her exit was precipitated when comedian Eddie Kadi, the favourite to be first eliminated, won a live trial and was made exempt from the public vote, leaving Alex vulnerable.
Notably absent from the bridge greeting was Alex's girlfriend, singer Jess Glynne. Shortly after the episode aired, Jess took to Instagram to explain her absence, revealing her mother had suffered a "major stroke and underwent brain surgery." She expressed immense pride in Alex, stating she was unable to travel to Australia due to the family crisis.
