Emmerdale fans have been left stunned after discovering that music star Yungblud once appeared on the ITV soap over a decade ago. In 2015, Dominic Richard Harrison, now known as Yungblud, played the role of Matt, a potential love interest for Belle Dingle, portrayed by Eden Taylor-Draper.
Two years after his stint on Emmerdale, Harrison reinvented himself as Yungblud and has since released four albums, including his latest, 'Idols', which came out in June. Fans took to social media to express their surprise, with one writing on X: 'How did I not notice him!!' while another said: 'Right petition for Dom to get back to the village.'
Yungblud's only other credited acting role was in the Disney series 'The Lodge', where he played Oz, a singer and love interest for the character Kaylee. He is not the only musician to have started on a soap; Spice Girls star Mel B appeared in Coronation Street in 1993, and Emma Bunton played a mugger in EastEnders before finding fame.
The revelation comes shortly after Yungblud was hailed as the new Prince of Darkness due to his close friendship with the late Ozzy Osbourne. The pair bonded over their love of music, and Yungblud performed a rendition of 'Changes' at Black Sabbath's final gig. Ozzy died on July 22 at age 76, and Yungblud attended his funeral in Birmingham.
