A fresh line-up of famous faces joining Celebrity Gogglebox has just been unveiled. Now in its eighth series, the Gogglebox spin-off follows a similar format to the civilian edition, but with celebrities sat watching the latest TV shows on their sofas instead.
Who Is Max Balegde?
For some Channel 4 viewers, it will be the first time they have met Max. So who is he exactly? The 27-year-old is a social media star from Lancashire who has amassed a huge following on a number of online platforms. He got his start on TikTok in 2020 where he documented his life and interests and posted funny skits. He now has 3.6 million followers on the platform.
He has since branched out into presenting, YouTube vlogs and podcasting, and he can regularly be found on red carpets chatting to celebrities. He also hosted the hugely popular Useless Hotline Podcast alongside fellow social media star George Clarke, which launched in 2022. Sadly, the duo confirmed the podcast's final episode would air earlier this year, leaving fans heartbroken.
Max Balegde on Celebrity Gogglebox
Among the famous faces joining the rolling line-up is former Love Island star Olivia Attwood alongside her mum Jennifer; Gladiators stars Harry and Matt and comedian Julian Clary alongside actor Nigel Havers. Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant George Clarke will also appear with his close friend and collaborator, Max Balegde.
Speaking about their upcoming appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, George said: "It gave me a full excuse to take the mick out of Max on national TV. He reacts to everything, so you're never bored. It's so easy to get into as well, you just sit there, say exactly what you're thinking, and before you know it, we've gone completely off track!"
Meanwhile Max shared: "So excited to be back filming with George, especially on what is one of both our favourite TV shows! Such a privilege to be a part of the Gogglebox family with such legends and it was so much fun doing what I do best - catching up with a friend over a good TV show and cup of tea."
Celebrity Gogglebox returns to Channel 4 this Friday (June 5) at 9pm.
