The fourth season of hit HBO series The White Lotus will be filmed at Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, according to reports. The luxurious hotel on the French Riviera is a remodelled 19th-century castle where suites typically cost between $3,000 and $8,000 per night.
Unlike the first three seasons, which were primarily shot at Four Seasons properties, HBO has not renewed its marketing partnership with the chain. The new hotel is part of the Airelles Collection, owned by Stéphane Courbit, founder and chairman of Banijay Group – the production company behind Survivor, on which White Lotus creator Mike White competed in 2018. White is set to return for Banijay’s upcoming 50th season.
Set within 32 acres of parasol pines, cypress trees and jasmine, the château overlooks Saint-Tropez. It was originally built by 19th-century brandy merchant Gabriel Dupuy d'Angeac as a wedding gift for his daughter. Purchased by Airelles in 2019, it underwent a complete renovation before reopening in 2021.
The resort boasts 28 rooms and 71 suites, a private villa, a spa, beach access via Rolls-Royce transfer, five restaurants, sporting activities and a children’s camp. The third season was set in Thailand, and it is expected that the fourth will take place between Paris and the French Riviera, suggesting further filming locations yet to be revealed.
No release date has been announced for the new season, which is not expected until later this year or 2027. Season three, which aired in 2025, earned 23 Emmy nominations and featured a cast including Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood.
