Wednesday season two has landed on Netflix to widespread acclaim, and with the finale leaving several storylines open, fans are already speculating about the third instalment. The streaming giant has officially greenlit season three, promising more Addams Family favourites.
Co-creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar teased that the upcoming season will delve deeper into characters and expand the world of Nevermore. Millar confirmed: “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three.”
One notable absentee so far is Cousin Itt, the hairy character known for his bowler hat and high-pitched gibberish. While he has not appeared in person, a portrait of his ancestor, Ignatius Itt, hangs at Nevermore Academy, hinting at his eventual arrival.
The portrait connects to Ophelia Frump, Morticia’s sister, who was introduced in the season two finale. In the original series, Ophelia had a romance with Cousin Itt after almost marrying Gomez. Showrunners have indicated that Ophelia will feature in season three, raising hopes that Cousin Itt may join her.
Whether Cousin Itt finally appears alongside Ophelia remains to be seen, but the signs are strong. Fans will have to wait for the next chapter of Wednesday to find out.
